Cannot see the network windows 7

I understand you have already done this step Correct: Workgroup is the same on both.
Did both, just to be certain. In reply to Dean Kent's post on August 1, I assume that since this last thread was in July, but there was no response I have the same problem as Dean as countless other have. Win7 just doesn't seem to want to play well with others in the network.

If you are no longer in the domain then your machine won't append a suffix so will not work with DNS names.
Are you connected to a guest wireless that is completely separate to your network, are you even on the network? Simple but typically these are often the cause. Check windows firewall? Maybe something like file and print sharing got disabled. Recently had an issue similar to this and uninstalling and reinstalling "File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks" In adapter settings did the trick.
Are you on the correct network..? Can you ping the machine hosting the resources you are trying to access? Not on Guest network. Firewall is off. Disabled and re-enabled FP sharing. I can ping by IP but not by name. Thanks for your feedback. Please allow me to go back further. The following is the chain of events that took place, leading me to where we are now:. The problem is when I am at work. The machine just cannot detect the WiFi in the office. I have checked everything, including the router settings, all other machines in the office including desktops, smartphones and tablets all get on the net through the WiFi fine.
The machine was unable to find the WiFi signal at work right from the beginning, even before I update the anti-virus. That was what I noticed when I first turned it on in the office. I am praying that after Windows Update is complete, the issue will go away. However, something tells me that the issue will remain post - Windows Update.
I will update you when it's done. It is my absolute pleasure to inform you that after the completion of Windows Update, the machine detected the WiFi signal in the office. I can now connect to the net wirelessly at work. Hope to hear from you soon.
