Rona laminate flooring install

Well we're still in major renovation stage with most rooms under construction in some form or another We still have our sub floor ripped up and probably won't get closed until net weekend.

I also needed to buy "nose" pieces for stairs that the laminate will be going to. I'll PM you with my link of pictures. That's not the one we bought a few months ago but then Costco changes their stock like crazy.

The stuff we bought was We got our transitions at HD. Everyone whop has walked into our house since we did it swears it wood. It doesn't "ting" like cheap laminate because it's HDF. Because ours is single v groove plank in varying lengths it makes a difference as well. Transitions do sit on top of the laminate at doorways, etc. They have to to preserve the floating floor aspect to allow expansion and contraction. At the fireplace you'll cut the laminate quite close and just put quarter round down to hide the expansion gap.

You don't have to take your baseboards off, just the quarter round if you have any installed. If you don't have quarter round you're going to have to install some after you do the floor.

I put it down on the second floor of my loft and it looks, feels, sounds fine. It looks like the same manufacurer produces this product under different names at other retailers and its more expensive.

Good flooring for the price. I had laminate flooring on my main floor, and just ripped it out last weekend and put down ceramic tiles. A way better choice IMO. That laminate just felt really cheap, if your gonna have that wood look, install the real thing.

Laminate worked good for me on a property that I flipped a couple years ago. But I agree the longevity of the stuff is questionable. Personally I wouldn't put any wood or wood composite flooring products in the basement.

But it is really a matter of choice at the end of the day.
